Tamara Laï crée des vidéos et des œuvres médiatiques en appliquant une syntaxe poétique et souvent métaphorique. Ces œuvres apparaissent comme des images oniriques où fiction et réalité se rencontrent. Son, rythme et mouvement y jouent toujours un rôle clé. Sa poésie, proche de l’écriture automatique, opère souvent un dangereux glissement entre le Soi et l’Autre, dans une profonde introspection.

Réalisatrice vidéo, Tamara Laï se tourne en 1993 vers les techniques numériques : vidéo, infographie et effets spéciaux, ainsi que l’écriture de nouvelles, contes et poésies interactifs. Activiste web précoce et artiste des réseaux (1997), ses recherches se portent sur le Net art / Web Art (sites, performances cam_&_chat, video-conferences…), et tout particulièrement la création d’espaces numériques participatifs. Ses oeuvres « entre happening et art éphémère », ont fait partie des sélections officielles de festivals et sont exposées en Belgique et à l’international.

Tamara Laï creates videos and media works using a poetic and often metaphorical syntax. These works appear as dreamlike images where fiction and reality meet. Sound, rhythm and movement still play a key role. Her poetry, close to automatic writing, often operates a dangerous shift between the Self and the Other, in a deep introspection.

Video director, Tamara Laï turned to digital techniques in 1993: video, computer graphics and special effects, with the writing of interactive novels, stories and poetry. Early web activist and network artist (1997), her research focuses on Net art / Web Art (sites, performances cam_&_cat, video conferences…), and especially the creation of participative digital spaces. Her works “between happening and ephemeral art”, have been part of the official selections of festivals and international events worldwide.
