about

This thirteenth edition of City Sonic, which is part of the program of Mons2015,
European Capital of Culture, brought together twenty places and more than sixty artists
to metamorphose the city into a great audio hub connected to the sonic planet. From its
Mons base, City Sonic, following the connective and internationalist approach of
Transcultures which initiated the festival, also distributes, in Autumn 2015, its
productions in Brussels, Reims, Zagreb, Quebec, Taipei.

This selection of (mainly) new pieces can be heard as a kind of catalogue raisonné
(impossible to have on this CD all the City Sonic 2015 proposals, some of which can not
be summarized in this format) echoing this exciting and magic moment when these
inventive practices in their diversity (digital and audio visual devices, re-invented
instruments, sound poetry, radio creation...) can freely express themselves.
