« Du 15 au 20 novembre 2021, je suis allé avec ma conjointe en retraite/résidence de création à Charette, petite municipalité en Mauricie, à 140 km au nord-est de Montréal. Un ami a récemment acquis l'ancien bar du village dans le but de transformer le lieu en centre de création dédié à la recherche et le ressourcement sous forme de résidence. Nous avons été les « testeurs » du concept en quelque sorte. Je me suis donné comme but, dans un premier temps, d'explorer les possibilités de nouveaux équipement récemment acquis. J'ai ainsi enregistré toutes mes expérimentations sous formes de multiples improvisations. Ensuite, j'ai commencé à faire des assemblages pour de nouvelles compositions avec le matériel pertinent. C'est la façon dont je travaille depuis toujours : multiples improvisations pour créer le matériau de base et ensuite, montage. » Eric D’Orion ---------------- “From November 15 to 20, 2021, I went with my spouse in retirement /creative residence to Charette, a small municipality in Mauricie, 140 km northeast of Montreal. A friend recently acquired the old village bar with the aim of transforming the place into a creative center dedicated to research and healing in the form of a residence. We were the “testers” of the concept in a way. My goal was, first of all, to explore the possibilities of new equipment recently acquired. I thus recorded all my experiments in the form of multiple improvisations. Then I started to make assemblies for new compositions with the relevant material. This third series of online “chamber” sessions commissioned by Transcultures and the Transonic label to sound creators of various aesthetics but all adventurous practices (electronics, sound art, sound poetry, post rock, ambient, field recording, improvisation…) honors artistic singularities from different countries and sound practices.

This desire to support both new talents, human meteorites and pioneers of these creative sounds is at the heart of the approach of the indie label Transonic produced by Transcultures, since its creation in 2012. It joins here the No Lockdown Art initiative launched by Transcultures and the European Pepinieres of Creation during the first global anti-Covid-19 lockdown in March 2020 and the willingness of the partners to use the Internet to support and make these differentiated audio creations available to as many curious people as possible.

Cette troisième série de sessions en ligne “ de chambre” commandées par Transcultures et son label Transonic à des créateurs sonores d’esthétiques variés mais toutes aventureuses (électronique, sound art, poésie sonore, post rock, ambient, field recordings, musiques improvisées…), met à l’honneur des singularités artistiques issues de différents pays et pratiques sonores.

Cette volonté de soutenir tant des émergences, météorites sonores que des pionniers des ces sons autres est au cœur de la démarche de l’alter label Transonic produit par Transcultures, depuis sa création en 2012. Elle rejoint ici l’initiative NoLA – No Lockdown Art (programme Creaconnections) lancé par Transcultures et les Pépinières européennes de Création lors du premier confinement anti Covid-19 en mars 2020 et la volonté des partenaires d’utiliser le réseau pour soutenir et faire découvrir ces créations audio différenciées au plus grand nombre de curieux.
